William L. Allen – Bill was raised in Auburndale, Florida and graduated from Auburndale High School in 1991. Bill received his undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida (B.A. Cum Laude 1995). Following undergraduate studies, Bill obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Memphis (J.D. Magna Cum Laude 1998) where he received the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence in Criminal Law as well as Civil Procedure. Additionally, Bill received the Corpus Juris Secundum Award for Scholastic Excellence in Civil Procedure and Criminal Law from West Publishing Corporation.
Bill was admitted to the Florida Bar and initially served as an Assistant Public Defender handling a variety of criminal litigation cases. In 2000, Bill left the public Defender’s Office and entered private practice establishing the firm of the Law Offices of Allen and Abaray, P.A. His practice focuses on defending individuals charged with criminal matters ranging from traffic offenses such as D.U.I. to drug offenses and murder. Bill prides himself taking aggressive strategies in his defense of his clients. Bill is currently a member of the Florida Bar Ethics Committee for the Tenth Judicial Circuit, the Lakeland Bar Association, and the Polk County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
Gregory P. Abaray – Gregory P. Abaray was admitted to the Florida Bar in September of 1996 after graduating with cum laude honors from Nova Southeastern law school. He was also admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 1999. Greg is a member of the American Association of Justice, Polk County Trial Lawyers Association, Lakeland Bar Association, and Polk County Criminal Lawyer Association. He joined our firm in March of 2003 and handles personal injury, insurance disputes, medical malpractice, nursing home, civil litigation, and wrongful death. Not only is Greg licensed to practice in all state courts within Florida, but also in the Federal Middle District Court and the Federal Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Greg has been a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer since 2008, a distinction that less than 2% of Florida lawyers share. This enables Greg to hold himself as an expert in the area of civil trials, which encompasses personal injury and insurance cases. He is also a life time member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
